Reboot time?

Hi - can anyone give me a rough estimate of their reboot time on the plug?

I issue a reboot , everything shuts down cleanly.

When it restarts it hangs for at least 20 - 25 minutes on :

eth0: link up, full duplex, speed 100 Mbps

The kicks into life

My total reboot time is around 25 - 30 minutes and when booted everything is as expected.

if this is not typical, any ideas as to troubleshooting?

30 seconds is typical for a (warm) boot with shutdown -r for me, though sometime it will not restart at all without being powercycled, at which point it takes under a minute.

(Maybe it's been hanging as yours has, but I've been too impatient to let it finish.)

Hard reboot , power cycle, still hitting the same wall. Very very long boot time - last one took an hour....

So, any advice from the forum to troubleshoot before i re flash the plug?

• Connect the serial console over a reboot and see what is happening.
• Read the system logs (/var/log/messages) over a reboot to see what is happening when.

Probably best done in reverse order...

As stated above, have a look at /var/log/messages or dmesg.
Is the network card configured statically or via dhcp?
Try to assign it a static ip address and reboot.
What kernel are you using?
I'm actually using the one from the v1.0 installer (2.6.30.2), and is
working almost flawlessly.

Mine boots from a "no brand" SD card in 20-25 seconds.
Almost unbelievable
