Hi,

I use two SheevaPlug. One for weather measurement an the other one for an motion detection project.

I've an older Philips ToUcam Pro and Debian Lenny runs on the SheevaPlug. There is the old pwc webcam driver
as an kernel module. When I connect the webcam the pwc driver is loaded. With dmesg I can see the driver
messages and I think there iss all correct. With setpwc I can see the webcam parameters.

Now I would like to use the excellent motion detection software motion but these software cannot capture video.
I tried to use w3cam and this also fails.

I this problem known? Is there an problem with the pwc driver? The kernel I use is 2.6.30-2 from the Debain SD-card
system from Michael Michlmayer.

Thanks.

Steffen

I've found a solution.

The webcam needs an extra powerd usb hub. The power supply over the SheevaPlug usb port is
not enough to power the webcam correctly.

So now the webcam runs with motion.
