All

My plug has been working merrily for a couple fo weeks, with transmission, twonky and squeeze all installed with storage on a USB drive

Web server also installed serving a basic UI.

problem - did a reboot from ssh (putty on windows) and tada it will now not show on the network at all.

Tried reboots (hard) , reset the pin hole, removed USB storage . No joy

Blue light on , green light on (both solid) . network lights flashing as normal. but she is not on the network. (obvious things like cables et al checked, bear in mind this happened right on the reboot command)

obvious question - where to now?

So i get access via putty over USB.

It seems that eth0 is coming up just fine, it will restart it shows a full duplex link, but it will not grab a dhcp address instead it sets an autoip address . Cables router etc, all good.

thoughts?

do the following

* login to plug using serial console.
* become root
* stop dhclient (dhclient -r; killall dhclient)
* check ifconfig (ifconfig)
* run dhclient in foreground (dhclient

you are sure, that there is a dhcp server on your network?

Hi

I got to the bottom of the IP part - i had (incorrectly) installed pogoplug base which had set a change in the interfaces file - reverted that and could get DHCP no problem.

But....

In serial console , I get the plug hanging at the eth0 link up . it takes maybe 10 minutes to get past that , seems to boot everything just fine, but is dead slow and stop in responding to anything realworld (example lighttpd running, when i try to grab a page, it times out serving it)
