Hi,

i have been running transmission bt 1.75 quite a while now. Everytime I start a new download the system becomes unresponsive. Using "top" I get the following...

Code:
top - 19:10:06 up 18 min,  1 users,  load average: 5.84, 4.67, 2.44
Tasks:  60 total,   1 running,  59 sleeping,   0 stopped,   0 zombie
Cpu(s):  2.8%us,  2.8%sy,  0.0%ni,  0.0%id, 94.4%wa,  0.0%hi,  0.0%si,  0.0%st
Mem:    513380k total,   499548k used,    13832k free,     6076k buffers
Swap:  1005528k total,        0k used,  1005528k free,   408916k cached

PID USER      PR  NI  VIRT  RES  SHR S %CPU %MEM    TIME+  COMMAND
1529 transmis  20   0 49604 9220 4512 S  0.0  1.8   0:54.10 transmission-da

Is there any way of getting around the extremly high "%wa" ?! I am running Ubuntu from a sdhc card (16GB) (root and bootimage).

%wa means that the kernel is put into idle since it is waiting for an I/O to complete (hinting your SDHC is slow)
