I have installed Debian Lenny on the compact flash. The VLC package is installed and I can stream video/audio without problem.

Recently, I want to transcode a rstp stream into another format. I discovered that the ffmpeg's libavcodec is compiled with options disabled almost all encoding functions. Anyone know where I can get a ffmpeg libavcodec with full encoding function for debian?

Thanks for your help in advance.

This is what I had to do to get the right encoders to transcode.

the necessary encoders apparently are not included in the standard packages in the repository due to licensing issues, and the distribution for the ARM platform doesn't yet include the unstripped codec library.

Henry,

Thanks for your suggestion. I download the ffmeg source and simply run the ./configure --enable-share --prefix=/usr and follow by the make ; make install. Will this compile all encoders or I should put more options onto the ./configure?

Thanks
