To answer my own question, Logitech has supplied a .deb package of version 7.4.1 that installs and runs perfectly on the sheeva.

I just tried the the Debian package as well. Worked okay here on a fresh install of Debian. Web interface to Squeezebox Server even feels pretty snappy too...
