How to assign unallocated space to /dev/sdb2 partition on an SD card ?

I dont know if this is the right place for this topic.
I am using sheevaplug.
I have copied the 4GB image on to a 16GB class 10 scandisk SD card.
In gparted, I can see 11 GB of unallocated space.
Can someone be so kind in explaining me a step by step procedure to all the unallocated space of 11 GB to the /dev/sdb2 partition which is my root file system and currently only has 3.5 GB?
Thanks in advance.
