Sheevaplug broken?

I'm running a Sheevaplug for about 2 years. This morning no ping was possible even after repowering. Yellow and green LEDs are on but don't flash so I assume there is no activity. When I try to connect the plug via serial console to my desktop PC (mini usb to usb) it doesn't find any new device (lsusb). What can I do to either resurrect it or at least to have access to my data?

Wouldn't the LEDs be off in case of a broken PSU?

No, In a "low voltage" situation the leds will light, but the voltage is too low for the rest of the circuitry.  Your's has the exact same symtoms that mine had when my power supply failed.

Ok, I'm convinced. Can I use any power supply? Which voltage is needed and how should I connect the 2 red and 2 black leads?

Thanks a lot, folks. I resurrected my Sheeva with an external SATA power supply (12V at yellow, 5V at red), some luster terminals, and tape. Doesn't look professional but works well.
