Help Compiling a Kernel Extension

Hi,
  I'm new to the platform, and I need to get the Clear 4G Dongle to work with it.  The page here:

The DreamPlug is running the debian distribution, and actually has a version of this kernel module in it already, but unfortunately it's the old one.

According to the web site, I need v1.7.40 to get the AirCard 250U to work.

My question is this -- can I just upgrade to a newer kernel and get this newer driver, and if so, how?

The site says...

Starting from kernel ver. 2.6.25 most of Linux distributions include the Sierra Linux drivers and are equipped with the Network Manager application.

So, one of the dreamplug kernels from http://sheeva.with-linux.com/sheeva/ should work.  Don't forget to read the instructions carefully.

Thanks!  I wasn't aware of that site.  Is it offline currently?  I can't get the site to load.

Try this -> http://archlinuxarm.org/mirror/with-linux/, but I believe is outdated. The latest source is for 2.6.38 kernel. Contact with cbxbiker61, he uses to release the new versions.
