For Dreamplugs:
sudo ./README-DREAM-UPDATE.sh 3.0.2 (installs 3.0.2 to disk)

Hi cbxbiker61,

I have a question about upgrading the kernel in my guruplug. I have attached a eSata drive to the guruplug and is booting from it, so I think upgrading a system like mine should use the option --rootkernel instead of the --nandkernel, isn't it?. If not, how could I perform the upgrade?

Thanks for keeping our guruplugs updated!,

--rootkernel places the sheeva-*-uImage file in /boot.  In the case of my Sheevaplug, I've configured the uBoot to look for uImage on the first partition.  My first partition is an ext2 part mounted at /boot.  So all I have to do after I've upgraded with --rootkernel is to "cd /boot; rm uImage; ln sheeva-3.0.3-uImage uImage".

BTW, 3.0.3 is ready.

Hi cbxbiker61,

I have upgraded to 3.0.3 and run the commands :
Code:
cd /boot
rm uImage
ln sheeva-3.0.3-uImage uImage

But the system does not boot as expected:

Code:
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/3.0.3/modules.dep: No such file or directory
Begin: Loading essential drivers ... FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/3.0.3/modules.dep: No such file or directory
done.
Begin: Running /scripts/init-premount ... done.
Begin: Mounting root file system ... Begin: Running /scripts/local-top ... done.
Begin: Waiting for root file system ... done.
Gave up waiting for root device.  Common problems:
 - Boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
   - Check rootdelay= (did the system wait long enough?)
   - Check root= (did the system wait for the right device?)
 - Missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT!  /dev/disk/by-uuid/75b0a121-06e8-4dcd-a624-4d8d5fb35b67 does not exist.  Dropping to a shell!
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/3.0.3/modules.dep: No such file or directory
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/3.0.3/modules.dep: No such file or directory

 What was wrong? Any clue?

You need to run depmod.  If you used the README*sh then it should have run depmod.  I know it works for me.
