I bought a sheevaplug with ubuntu not realizing that 9.04 isn't supported anymore. So I decided to install Debian on it.

I'm Following these instructions (and these ) and I'm having trouble installing debian.

When I get to the debian installer I see this:

It displays funny characters and I can't get through the install process.

Is it the installer language? is incorrect characters? I've tried it in Xterm and Terminal and they both display the incorrect characters.

Does anyone know a fix?

I assume you are connecting through the console port.

Could it be the setting like speed or something like that?

Did you ever find a solution for this? I'm running into the exact same problem and am totally stumped on how to fix it!
