Hi all,

I'm planning to install a webserver on a plugcomputer, so it will be working 24*7.

What do you recommend me? Sheevaplug? GuruPlug Server? Any other computerplug?

Is SheevaPlug still having power supply issues?

Is GuruPlug still having heating issues?

Thanks in advance!

For the price, Sheeva, for connectivity but slightly higher price, Guruplug, but I think is not available unless you order high quantities, maybe you prefer the dreamplug.

Thanks pacolm!!

I suppose you are talking about Guruplug server-Plus, aren't you? (yes, it seems you can't order it unless you order 2000 units). Guruplug server-Standard has the same price as Sheevaplug,

I only need Ethernet + USB (or SD card) so maybe Dreamplug is too much for me ... except it is doesn't have any issue with power supply or heating ....

So I'd like to know the issues on power supply or heating, for a 24*7 device, on:

      - Sheevaplug
      - Guruplug Server-Standard
      - Dreamplug

Thanks!

Sheevaplug with a powered USB hub methinks is a good option.

You might also consider a Seagate Dockstar. It can run Debian and can boot from a usb flash drive. They are no longer made but can be found on ebay for about $40 US. It's similar to a Sheevaplug but only has 128 MB RAM. I've had one running a webserver since last September. See here:
