Hi,

I just upgraded my GP server + to the newer kernel 2.6.37.8. Now the USB seems to stop working. Running the lsusb command:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub

Instead of the usual output I got:
Code:
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 2.0 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 05e3:0608 Genesys Logic, Inc. USB-2.0 4-Port HUB
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 05e3:0726 Genesys Logic, Inc.

Seems that something is wrong, could be the hardware or just something wrong in the new kernel??

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

Any advice on this?. Should I try to install a previous kernel or do some check?

Try a "usb start" in uboot. If only one USB device is reported, you've got a broken plug (like mine). Sad

Btw: My USB went dead after trying the .33.8 kernel. Is something seriously broken in the new kernels or is it just a coincidence?

Hi,

Do you remember which kernel had your guruplug before failed?. I will try it tonight.
I made a downgrade to the original 2.6.33.7 (if I remember well), but the problem was the same. I reimaged all the guruplug (uboot/rootfs/kernel), and still the same, so I think does shouldn't have anything to do with upgrading, but there are many coincidences....

Hi,

The uboot is starting the USB, in fact using the usb commands, only reports the main HUB. I believe something fails in the hardware side, this is the reason I wanted to check the signals.
