Hi-

My mac laptop doesn't have a serial connector.  Is there a way to set the sd card as the boot partition over the network or through USB?

TIA  = )

If I am reading your question correctly, no:  For all intents and purposes, you really do need to have access to the Plug's console in order to make the necessary changes to the Uboot to boot from an SDcard or use it as a root filesystem.  The good news is that the console is not brought out directly as a serial port, but rather, is embedded as part of a USB connection (along with the FTDI interface to the JTAG), so if you have a USB connection on your laptop, you should be able utilize it to talk to the Plug.  I'm not sure what needs to be done to condition the Mac to correctly handle this interface, but I think the instructions are floating around this forum, or in the Wiki.

Good luck!
