Using the second port as ... usb?

Before I go cranking away, has anyone got sample code to use the second USB port (the serial debug port) as a regular-old-USB-port-#2? Can it even be done? I'd think so... would like to use it to drive a second HD or possibly a display.

That second USB port is nothing more than a serial port and JTAG interface to the ARM.  An FTDI serial-to-usb chip on the daughterboard does the translation, so the ARM never sees that USB port.  This type of serial-to-usb converter is becoming very common because serial ports are now very rare on new computers, while USB is now standard.

The problem is the second port is a USB device, and you want a port that's a USB host.  To simplify slightly, the port goes the "wrong way" and needs to be connected to another computer, not to a USB device like a keyboard or flash drive.  If you need more USB ports, just connect a hub to the main (host) port.
