serial connection gives sheevaplug cannot open line for r/W device or resource

I got a sheevaplug that my friend who is knowledgable about sheevas was kind enough to install plugbox. Problem is that I cant connect with the usb but I can ssh.

If i type:

screen /dev/ttyUSB0 115200
sheevaplug cannot open line for r/W device or resource busy
couldnt find a pty

neither my friend or me has encountered anything like this and I would like to ask this board for help

Cant find the edit button but Im at the top of the list anyway so no harm done.

I installed cu and tried
cu -s 115200 -l /dev/ttyUsb0

which gave me "Line in use"

It has been solved, It helped by upgrading the kernel I still cant find the edit button
