Author Topic: Where can I download uap8xxx.ko?  (Read 3937 times)

I accidently deleted all files (except hidden) in the /root directory.
Now my AP doesn't work because uap8xxx.ko module is missing.
Can anybody upload somewhere that module for me?

My hardware is GuruPlug Server Plus.

You can get a full rootfs from the plugcomputer.org remository.

repository contains rootfs and modules for kernel vesion 2.6.33.2-00003-g4b82fc0 and I have 2.6.32-00007-g56678ec.
So I can't insmod that uap8xxx.ko.

That sucks.  Some (maybe all) guruplugs were shipped with an older image.  I have no idea where to get that older image.  Many users probably updated to the newer image before they started using the plug.

I believe the kernel, uboot and rootfs images in the remository are all newer (and cleaner) than what the plugs were shipped with.

I've flashed kernel 2.6.36.4 from sheeva.with-linux.com and now got:
Code:
Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.
That's all. System doesn't boot at all now.

If memory is correct, it could be:

  • U-Boot version not compatible with the kernel
  • Kernel corrupted
  • arcNumber and mainlineLinux values need to be changed
  • Something else

I've decided to upgrade uBoot and now have one more level of brick.
Now I even don't see any messages via serial.

I've gotten this issue from time to time, and one or two simple reboots fixed it (as in, I just tried once or twice more without changing anything and it got past that point).  I haven't been able to identify what makes it occur or not occur.

Now I'm waiting for shipping of the JTAG to reflash uboot.

UPD: BTW support of the newit.co.uk sent me uap8xxx.ko file but at that moment I've already bricked my uBoot.

Problem solved by reflashing u-boot and kernel from the official repository with JTAG module.
u-boot from http://oinkzwurgl.org/guruplug_uboot doesn't work.

i had able to up my uap and bluetooth..but mlan0 sucks for me..

but i cant up my mlan0..any idea?
where can i download the latest source code for wlan?
