I'm thinking about runing Funambol (http://www.funambol.com/) on the sheevaplug. I will report back if it's working or not.

Funambol is not for push email even though it's able to sync emails among Outlook and mobile devices. Its main usage is to sync PIM data (such as calendar,  contacts, notes) between Desktop email client such as Outlook and smartphones. Anyway I tried installing it today without an issue but running it is a no-go. Reason: the build is based on i386 architecture and there's no source code that I can obtain so that I can re-compile on the plug.

I took a look at the Funambol website and they do have full access to the source code at https://core.forge.funambol.org/source/browse/core/.  It was kind of hidden at the bottom of the page, so I could understand you having trouble finding it.

It looks like it might be a challenge to compile, but that's what dev kits are all about. Grin  I hope it works out; let us know how it goes.
