Hi rickyleeb,

 I'm able to set all the environment variables except the first one, when I run the 'setenv bootcmd' plus all the options, the command is just executed, so, I'm not able to store the value. What's going wrong???

Thank for your help,

PacoLM

I've got exactly the same problems a Pacolm. I tried to flah the latest kernel onto my Guruplug and found my plug stopped booting after decompressing kernel. I than reflashed the original kernel and Rootfs but I still have the same problem. I don't understand what's wrong and whatever I try I keep hanging at the same point in the booting process. Does anybody have a clue on how to overcome this?

Palcom,

Could you please start a new discussion thread so we can get this issue out of the 2.6.35.10 thread.  Thanks

By the way, did you set the U-Boot variables:

setenv mainlineLinux yes
setenv arcNumber 2659
saveenv

2659 is for the Guruplug
2097 for the SheevaPlug
2678 for SheevaPlug eSATA

When you upgrade the kernel, the stopping after kernel decompress is often caused by these being missing.

i think "setenv" must'nt be there, to define uboot-var.  "ethact"   and "bootcmd", you've to enter (in uboot):

setenv bootcmd   '${x_bootcmd_ethernet}; setenv ethact egiga1; ${x_bootcmd_ethernet};'
setenv ethact egiga0;

(don't forget the 'quotes')
