I'm looking to add an IPCop + URLFilter setup to the network at home to give us a more granular approach, but couldn't see the benefit of using a whole machine for this with power requirements etc...

a Sheevaplug (or similar) seems to be a sufficiently powerful platform, and with a USB disk could probably even take on some cache workload for the squid implementation...

problem is it's been a long time since I installed Linux, and never on a device so not sure if this idea is (a) practical or (b) where to start Smiley

Am I confused or would this be a good use for a plug computer?
