console access from a freebsd box?

Has anyone been able to use cu or tip from a freebsd box to access the mini-usb console? I get
ugen0: <FTDI SheevaPlug JTAGKey FT2232D B, class 0/0, rev 2.00/5.00, addr 2> on uhub1
when I plug it in, but I think more drivers might be needed on the freebsd box.

I don't use FreeBSD myself, but I did a little googling and found that it does support the ftdi_sio driver, so see my answers in

this thread
for the use of ftdio_sio.
