Needs some help,
When installing ntfs-3g it errs because the version of ibfuse2_2.7.4-1.1ubuntu3_armel.deb, among others. is not on this ports.ubunto.com.

I new to ubunto (apt-get) and can't seem to find a site that has the correct version or know how to override dependancies in apt-get installs.

Any help for the newb would be appreciated.

E: Unable to fetch some archives, maybe run apt-get update or try with --fix-missing?

OK, more issues.

After what appeared to be a successful install I try mounting the drive

root@SheevaPlug:/etc/apt# mount -t ntfs-3g /dev/sda1 /media/windows
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.22.18/modules.dep: No such file or directory
fuse: device not found, try 'modprobe fuse' first
root@SheevaPlug:/etc/apt# modprobe fuse
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.22.18/modules.dep: No such file or directory

Any ideas?

Ok, I created /lib/modules/2.6.22.18/. Then when I apt-get install ntfs-3g I get:

root@SheevaPlug:/sbin# apt-get install ntfs-3g

The following NEW packages will be installed:

2 not fully installed or removed.
Need to get 0B/28.5kB of archives.
After this operation, 152kB of additional disk space will be used.

So, it appears that udev is not running. udev is beyond my level of expertise...Any help?

bfmorgan,

did you actually get this to work ? I would like to mount an NTFS drive.

I have no idea how to start with. I am not even sure if my USB drive is properly working (since it is a buspowered drive(recent one)).

Kind regards,

Luke

Luke,
I loaded the latest kernel from cbxbiker61 at http://sheeva.with-linux.com/sheeva/. This has the ntfs capability.

Hope this helps,
