I'm finding the forums almost unreadable due to the
use of grey on dark brown background.

Is there a way to switch the color palette so that I can
have dark print on light background ala a newspaper
or some other user-selectable color map or look+feel ?

Couldn't find anything on the forums themselves.

You can change that by clicking on your profile settings --> 'Look and layout settings' and then click on 'Current Theme'.

...

I have so often wanted to post the above.  I determined how to set my settings to a more standard color contrast; however, I still have problems reading the log-in page which is the default setting of the forum,  the contrast between background and the text is so low that I really have to look carefully just to place my mouse on the "Login" link.  Attached is an example of what I see.

If you check "Stay logged in", you'll never see the low contrast colour scheme again.

The default scheme defies all rules of good graphic design. It really should be changes to something more humane.
