Has anyone tried to run ethernet over the usb port? When I try connecting to my Motorola Surfboard cable modem via usb with my Slackware box, the modules usbnet, cdc_ether, rndis_host, and rndis_wlan show up and the device is seen as eth1. I realize that the Sheeva Plug does not use modules, but these objects seem to be included in the kernel (Sources/linux-2.6.22.18). But on the Sheeva Plug, all I get are these lines in /var/log/messages:
May 26 16:44:52 sheeva kernel: usb 1-1: new full speed USB device using ehci_marvell and address 2 May 26 16:44:52 sheeva kernel: usb 1-1: no configuration chosen from 1 choice
Am I missing something in the kernel or in the Ubuntu distribution?
Thanks, Jim
