GuruPlug Server Plus - will my scenario work?

Hey,

even though I know about the problems of the GuruPlug Server Plus, I ordered one today as my old server is way too loud and needs way too much power.

I want to use my GP as my homeserver for running a torrent client and serving 1080p/720p movies, all using Amahi.

For streaming 1080p 1000 Mbits are required, which is known to overheat the GuruPlug's CPU.
I'm not going to use WLAN or the Bluetooth though. I want to use eSATA to connect a HDD.

Do you think this will run stable without modifictions to the device? I doubt it.
But what about if i modify it using something along the lines of this tutorial? http://bzed.de/posts/2010/09/refactoring_the_guruplug_server_plus/

EDIT: Should I have just ordered the eSATA Sheeve, or does it have the same problems?

The latest version of the Guru Plug Server resolves the heat issues, but with a very loud fan!

So yes, it will work.

The only real limitations that I can see now are:

1. very weak antenna for WIFI hotspot..

2. Noisy.

The fan is so loud that I can hear mine from the opposite corner of a 5 bedroom house.

I have measured it at 70dB, compared to my desktop PC at ~50dB.
