Hi I have been trying to ubuntu 9.04 on a sheevaplug using the sheevaplug installer.

I previously had success with this and thought it was a relatively easy process.
When I tried to do it again with another plug which I thought was identical it seems to work correctly flashing uboot but when it tries to boot the kernel the console turns to garbage.
I have tried resetting the environment variables. and various different versions of uboot
but i can't seem to fix the problem.

Has anyone else solved this problem, or does anyone have any tips on what i might try?

PS. i have also tried it with debian lenny...
Below is the console output when i tried using ESIA
Code:
"setenv bootargs_console 'console=ttyS0,115200'"
"Marvell>> setenv bootcmd 'run recover1'"

I suggest taking a look at this thread and see if something there helps.  If this is a late model plug and pre-2.6.32 kernel, it is a known problem fixed in later kernels.

Yeah I stumbled across the solution on the forum.
Although funnily enough 2.6.36 wouldn't work so i tried 2.6.35 :-)

Thanks
