Compiling Brutefir for parametric equaliser

Hi there,

Is it possible to compile and run the brutefir  (www.ludd.luth.se/~torger/brutefir.html) for the SheevaPlug?
I guess the critical library is fftw (www.fftw.org)?

Brutefir is easy to install on a Desktop machine running Ubuntu (apt-get install brutefir), but I am not sure whether the ARM architecture is supported.

If it *is* possible I could use it for running a parametric equaliser for Squeezebox Server.

Unfortunaltey Sheevaplug CPU doesn't include a FPU. FFT computing will be overkill on this platform.

Thanks. That is exactly what  I thought.
I got a reply from a vendor that both the fftw and brutefir are available for the pre-installed Ubuntu version 9.05. I guess they just checked if the packages were in the repository.

So my conclusion is that perhaps the packages will compile, but brutefir will run hopelessly slow because there is no FPU. Am I right?

PS: Running FPU operations on a CPU without the built-in instructions must be hopeless. Moreover, who wrote the libraries? That must have been a very odd job and of very little general use.
