[SheevaPlug] Install Plugbox Linux on an USB Stick

Hello first of all i must say excuse me for my very limited english, i will try to make myself as clear as possible.
I have recently gotten my SheevaPlug and i am trying to install PlugBox Linux on an USB-Stick.

I am following this guide http://plugboxlinux.org/index.php5?title=Getting_Started:_SheevaPlug & the readme in the SheevaPlug 1.0 Installer. However when following that guide you will discover that it will only use the USB-Stick to store & execute the installation that will install the rootfs to the NAND.

My question is could someone guide me through the installation process how to get the rootfs on the USB stick. and how to let uBoot remember to boot from the USB-Stick. right now uBoot only boots from an USB-Stick if you recently have ran the installer, once you reset the Sheeva it will try to boot from the NAND.

I really don't know how to do it since the installer only have nand or mmc option.

Sorry not to be able to provide a detailed answer.  One method would be to install to mmc and then replicate the partitioning and data on usb.

You would then modify the u-boot commands to use the usb device.  Specifically, in u-boot look at bootcmd and boorargs and change the mmc references to suit the usb.

Take a look at the PlugBox instructions for PogoPlug/Dockstar, as those must use USB. You'll need to alter the procedure a bit since you do not want to flash a new bootloader, though.
