Hi, I have just got a new Sheevaplug from NewIt , which I asked for Debian squeeze on a Premade SD card.
On my other Sheevaplug I`ve install Debian Lenny via a Tarball :-

http://www.cyrius.com/debian/kirkwood/sheevaplug/unpack.html

I Have installing Webmin and other packages without problems from the Lenny tarball , But on the Sheevaplug with squeeze webmin installs without problems , But will not automatically start up , I have to log in and do a  :- /etc/init.d/webmin start

Any clues

Thanks in advance Peter

Sounds as though the service isn't enabled.

Have your read the README file in /etc/init.d?  That indirectly pints you to update-rc.d.  Read its man page.

Very strange, Yes it was enabled, and had link in the right places, but didn`t want to start up.
So I tried installing Samba to see if it wasn`t running any service or just webmin.
AND installing Samba looks to have fixed it , because it is now automatically running on boot.
