Hi,

I have been using XFCE graphic environment with the Plug for a while... Works very nice, but to start, I first have to log in as root using terminal and after that call the startxfce startup script.

Now I would like to have these steps automated. I tried configuring XFCE startup via update-rc.d, and it starts, but does not work well, probably due to improper / lack of user context. On the other hand, as far as I know, XFCE does not have its own user login module...

So is it possible to automatically login as root and then execute startxfce, or may be another method of automating the startup process?

The goal is to get rid of any keyboard entry and boot the system to full XFCE environment after power cycle.
