I have created a virtual machine that runs Debian Linux and has the cross compiler installed on it. While most of you are beyond this point, I figured this could be useful for newcomers to the GuruPlug. I created this VM with VirtualBox OSE, but exported it to the open vitualization standard format so users of other virtualization software could use it.

I had to split the approximately 2.7 GB zip into four sections in order to get it to upload (even though the site claimed to handle files up to 5 GB, but I won't complain since it's free). If you need instructions on putting it back together refer to:

As an aside, I used Debian (Lenny) because of:
a) its friendliness to Linux newcomers
b) the GuruPlug's default distribution
c) the ease of installing the cross compiler
d) similarity to my VM host system (Ubuntu)
