Im trying to use the mirror and the first file keeps coming down as 424mb not 700mb

Any ideas.

Are the four files (except slight diff in names) the same in the two locations. So if download file one off original location and rename it should it then work.

Thanks

Hi again,

I have downloaded the files of this mirror two times.
I have created the file GuruPlug_host_June_2010.zip (cat GuruPlug_host_June_2010.zip* > GuruPlug_host_June_2010.zip)
When I have tried to uncompress this file, it tell me this error:

An attempt was made to move the file pointer before the beginning of the file

I have tried this in Windows XP and CentOS.

Can you help me with this?.

Best regards,

Ramses

Yes I think the first file on the mirror is truncated. I had the same problem. It should be 700MB. To join the 4 file under linux just use "cat" ie "cat file1 file2 file3 > joinedfile" Couldn't be easier!

Under WinXP you would need to use an archive program like winzip.

Cheers

Hi everybody,

Well, I have succeeded it.

I have downloaded the first file one and other time, until it was downloaded correctly the file with the correct size.

I have imported the machine in VirtualBox and all work well.

Best regards,

I've re-uploaded the first file to File Dropper; link is:
http://www.filedropper.com/guruplughostjune2010zip

Hope that helps.

i'm using ubuntu-lucid with  "Oracle VM VirtualBox 3.2.6-63112",
no need to import the .vmdk,
in VirtualBox just open your {de91a558-197d-42d2-b9da-3e6334b9c3aa}.vmdk
only had to change your boot/grub entry ( on-the-fly changing "root=hda1 into root=sda1" ), it's running nicely now.
so: thanks-a-lot for this big_ignoramus, you made me happy !

Help!!l  The link (http://www.filedropper.com/guruplughostjune2010zip) for the first part is dead. Anyone has a working mirror link? So far I got all rest of 3 parts from mikestaszel's mirror site.

Many thanks,
Jerry

I've uploaded the first file again to FileDropper. So that link should be good again for a little while.

I'm a bit late to the party, and I only have the truncated version of file number 1. If I could get hold of it, I can provide a permanent home on the New IT website.

Edit:

To clarify, I believe I have healthy copies of files 2-4, but not file #1.

Hi people,

I downloaded all the zip files from the mirror http://mikestaszel.com/plugstuff/debian-crosscompile-vm

The first part .001 seems to be only 426MB

I have used several downloading tools. i.e
BSD fetch, gnu wget, opensource axel

downloaded from FreeBSD, Linux and Solaris systems to no avail. All return 426 or 427 MB

Previous posts state that it should be 700MB

Filedropper has removed the original links.

Can someone provide an reliable link to the first part .001

cheers
