Development Kit Appendix A

In the SheevaPlug Development Kit README, Rev. 1.1, Appendix A, step 5, it says to look for the mkimage binary. When I look there I find mkimage.c, but no binary. Am I supposed to compile this on my linux system? If so, please help me with the compiler (gcc) pathing.
