Hi Folks,
I’ve just finished the SqueezePlugRescue-System. With this system you are able to revoke a bricked SheevaPlug.

Sometimes something runs totally wrong, so that you are left with a bricked plug. If this happens, stay cool. The SqueezePlugRescue-System will guide you to an easy restore process. If everything runs smooth, you get back:

•a working SheevaPlug with an updated Ubuntu system on the internal RAM (NAND),
•an updated u-boot system (3.4.23),
•a much faster UBIFS-Filesystem for a very fast boot and
•a multi-boot system like the plugs from NewIT. You can insert a sd-card with SqueezePlugMain installed and the plug will boot from sd-card. If you don’t plug in an sd-card, the system boots from the internal NAND.
•a nice Ubuntu 10.04 System on an USB-Stick fully functional with OpenOffice and much more nice things

I have several question if you don't mind...

Would it work for a Guruplug? if not how difficult would it be to adapt for it?

Which version of ubuntu is on the plug? why not debian?

and for the Ubuntu 10.04 USB Stick I assume that if my PC is already a Ubuntu 10.04 I don't need to make one?

It's the original Version comes with the SheevaPlug-Installer. I've made a second edition with Debian Squeeze (actual version made yesterday) with the newest u-boot version. You will find all on my blog: http://squeezeplug.de

No then you don't have to create the stick! Just start the script!

I unfortunately don't know enough to be able to do it.

may be other would know if some adaptation can be done?
