Hey guys,

after getting my GuruPlug Server + some weeks ago, i am very happy with this nice gadged. I encountered a problem that the Plug wont get an IP address through DHCP when plugging a cable in (I only tested eth0). dmesg shows

Code:
eth0: link up, 100 Mb/s, full duplex, flow control disabled
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready

The Plug then doesnt assign an IP address through the DHCP server. My /etc/network/interfaces looks like that:

Code:
cat /etc/network/interfaces
# Used by ifup(8) and ifdown(8). See the interfaces(5) manpage or
# /usr/share/doc/ifupdown/examples for more information.
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet dhcp

I didnt change anything else inside the ifplugd configs and action configs. On a regular bootup there are DHCPDISCOVER on eth0. When I manually run the dhclient command, the Plug gets the IP from the DHCP server.

Anybody else who has the same problem or knows what to do in order to get auto DHCP discovery when plugging in the ethernet cable?

Thanks for all suggestions,

greets

Maggo
