I'd like to buy a Sheeva Plug with an eSata port. I notice that NewIT has them, but they're based in UK and I'm in the U.S. I was going to buy the GuruPlug but it looks like they have too many problems, plus no JTAG is included, and I only need 1 ethernet port anyway. Has anyone found a Sheeva-based plug with eSata from a U.S. vendor?

Edited to add: I don't have the skill to buy a standard Sheeva and add the eSata port myself, so I'm looking to buy one pre-made.

Also, the CloudPlug from CTERA has eSata, so NewIT's deal must not be too exclusive. I would buy it except they force you to pay for a year of online backup storage at the same time, which I don't need.

No you would not, we stock the US power version of the Black eSATA units.

Does anybody know if the plain eSATA version from NewIT can boot from SD card? I think I would like one of there cards for a personal server, but I would rather boot from a SD card that I already own.

One last question from me, as a US customer, is there anything that makes the newID eSATA plug stand out from guruplug plus? I don't need 2 ethernet ports and I really don't need wifi, but it appears that the guruplug plus is cheaper, at least for a U.S. customer. Sorry if I am hijacking this thread too much.

Currently there are many posts that the guruplug has problems. It is not clear if it is a hardware or software problem. Beside that the sheevaplug has an integrated jtag module. I would not buy a guruplug without jtag. So you need to compare the price for a guruplug+ and jtag module with the sheevaplug.
