So this thread is obsolete? I just do a apt-get update, apt-get dist-upgrade and install the new kernel and the e-SATA drive will work out of the box?

Is there a module (or builtin) support for log-fs?
I was thinking of trying out logfs as a format for my sdcard..

Hmm, that's not what the LogFS site says.. http://logfs.org/logfs/"Q: Does FogFS work on both NAND and NOR?
A: Yes, it does. It works on block devices (USB stick, hard disk, etc.) as well."

oh. thats new for me. But why would i want to use a filesystem that is designed for flash on a blockdevice? Your SD Card does internal wear levelling and block management with an undisclosed algorithm. I think it would be a bad idea to add another management layer on top of this.

Ahh, I didn't know this.... I wanted something that managed the wear leveling of my SD Card. I ran for a while with a split setup, with some stuff on the NAND and my /VAR partition mounted on my Transcend Class6 SDCard (EXT3) but every now and again the system would fall over because the mmcblk device was readonly... Never got to the bottom of it, so move back to NAND only. I was thinking of re-using my sdcard for something less critical like /var/log

cbxbiker61, Could you please share how you got Sourcery G++ 4.4.3? The shell script in http://sheeva.with-linux.com/sheeva/tools/ seems a little old. I tried it but got an older version. I also tried building from source downloaded from codesourcery.com(both 2010q1-188 and 2010q1-202) with no luck. Both of them are older than 4.4.3. Thanks

Very cool cbxbiker61. Just letting you know that your kernel is default for Plugbox Linux for all the plugs. Thanks for all the hard work.

Just want to chime in here and thank you for all your work. I just flashed my GuruPlug's NAND with the README.2.6.34 script, and it worked like a charm! Quick and painless. I do have some issues with migrating eth* numbering, but I think that's likely my own doing. Cheers!

Sorry to take so long getting back to your post, I've been on vacation. I've put a newer script in /tools/ that will the 4.4.3 toolchain.
