Mine doesn't work. fdisk -l shows a USB stick as /dev/sdc, no sign of the attached eSATA drive. I'm using cbxbiker61's 2.6.33.4 kernel because the uimage-guruplug doesn't  work, so I have no idea what to expect.

eSATA support was added to Debian Lenny (ARM) on or around Feb 20. I understand the Debian dev's requests for a pre-production GuruPlug fell on deaf ears, but the eSATA Sheeva was one of the tested units, hopefully that's close enough.

Too many differences to list with regards to eSATA, but it would appear there are 2 different kernels also:

The 'recommended' one from the Guruplug Installer (2.6.33.2-00003-g4b82fc0) and yours (2.6.32-00007-g56678ec).

My plug won't boot with 2.6.33.2-00003-g4b82fc0, and 2.6.33.4 (cbxbiker61's latest) evidently doesn't support the GuruBrick's flavor of eSATA.

Curious how the older one is the one they suggest you download, right?

Tell me, Pingtoo, are you experiencing the inifinite reboot loop upon insertion of a LAN cable also?

I got mine on Thursday, I have not have chance to change anything yet.

Yes, I got the reboot problem as well. I plan to change the u-boot first than I will check kernel. initially I will disable WLAN until I have stable system then I will play around about the WLAN stuff.

I am located in Canada so may be I got a US version and you go Euro version.

I'm using cbxbiker61's 2.6.33.4 kernel because the uimage-guruplug doesn't  work

Thanks guys. I found the problem with the kernel. Those two-cent JTAG board cables must be firmly inserted all the way into the socket  (to the point I fear they cannot be removed without a good tweezers) or they don't reliably work.  Once I'd done that and flashed the matching U-Boot, the kernel booted without trouble.

EXCEPT

I can now no longer stop the unit rebooting upon insertion of a LAN cable in either port. They're purely decorative now. I might be able to configure the plug as a WLAN client, but why bother? Any performance advantage eSATA offers is more than erased by having to use 802.11a/g as a transport.
