SheevaPlug power supply & USB Thumb drive

After reading several threads and posts it seems like the SheevaPlug can't handle an external 2.5" HDD that is powered through the USB port.  What about a regular USB thumb drive/stick?  Or is the power supply of such inferior quality that I should rather not buy one of these devices and wait until they use a better quatlity power supply?

Hi,
I've been using thumb drives and even I connected a USB hub and I was able to connect and talk to the devices.  I had to manually mount the USB drive but besides that, I didn't see any problems.

Thanks.  I sent an email to globalscalestechnlogoies and apparently they fixed the power supply issue, and they now should support self-powered external 2.5" HDDs.  However, since all they did is reply with "Yes", I'm not sure what to think of it.  A 30 day "warranty" certainly suggests that they don't stand behind their product, so it's probably safe to assume that the quality is terrible.
