Did someone examine this device? Is it "hackable" like the OpenRD-Client?

That looks interesting, with a real power supply, all the ports necessary (only missing are SATA and JTAG), and hopefully real customer service. PSU must be external though.

I'm kinda waiting on the Asus EM0501, hoping it will be hackable: internal HD, upgradeable RAM, cheaper apparently (TBC, $200 w/HD and remote). But slower CPU.

The EM0501 is interesting too, but has a Samsung-SoC not Marvell - will be quite different...

Already found Eric Ruckers blog, but I think he just started exploring, thought here might be some people gone a bit further and willing to share their experience

That's the only review I have found that opened the unit. It is hard to tell by the board photo, but it looks like their may be a pin header for the console port as well in the lower right-hand corner.

Already bought a t5325 to study it, but still have no idea how to put an own booting kernel on the thin client.

Anyway Eric Rucker requested the sources from HP and I'm waiting for someone who successfully managed to put a more common version of u-Boot on it:
