Hi All,
I'm trying to connect the plugtop to a Microsoft PPTP VPN server. ( I have done this ok on a Ubuntu PC)
The connection is failing at the following point:
*********************************
kernel does not support PPP filtering
MPPE required, but kernel has no support.
sent [LCP TermReq id=0x2 "MPPE required but not available"]
rcvd [CCP ConfReq id=0x3 <mppe +H +M +S +L -D +C>]
Discarded non-LCP packet when LCP not open
rcvd [IPCP ConfReq id=0x4 <addr 192.168.19.116>]
Discarded non-LCP packet when LCP not open
rcvd [LCP TermAck id=0x2 "MPPE required but not available"]
Connection terminated.
*********************************
The pppd version is 2.4.5.
I have installed pptp-linux.
Does anyone know how I can fix this ?

Thanks.

Hi,

I had an issue with dialing a 3G modem with pppd and getting the same log saying the kernel lacked PPP filtering support, so I asked in this thread :
http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/index.php?topic=1372.0

And cbxbiker61 has re-compiled his kernel to include ppp filtering for us!

Hi, I am now running 2.6.32.9.
I now have mppe support and can occasionaly connect to the Windows 2003 server.

root@ubuntu:/etc/ppp# modprobe ppp-compress-18
root@ubuntu:/etc/ppp# strings `which pppd`|grep -i mppe|wc --lines
48
root@ubuntu:/etc/ppp#

However most of the time pppd rejects the LCP configuration for Callback option
"Location is determined during CBCP negotiation (0x06).

Is it possible to enable CBCP support ?
Or is it enabled by default and I have another problem ?

Thanks,
