NewB asks: how to flash kernal - the latest instructions

Hi all,

I am a newB, any good instructions on how to flash a new kernel?

Is this a good instruction:

do you need to install the latest of U-boot?  Is it a Das U-boot? do I follow the instructions from this link below:

I need a new kernel becase mine won't write on a NTFS based USB harddisk, it keeps giving me this error message:
FATAL: Could not load /lib/modules/2.6.22.18/modules.dep: No such file or directory

other users also had similar problem and it was resolved by flashing a new kernal on the plug.

Would appreciate anyone could lend a hand.

try the wiki. that refers to a pdf; there's also another wiki entry that details it as well.

i would advise against performing any actions until reading what you can to become comfortable with the process.
