My wife recently got me an eSata Sheevaplug for my birthday but these are still shipping with old versions of u-boot so I'm trying to upgrade so I can have boot support for sd/usb . I've tried http://www.cyrius.com/debian/kirkwood/sheevaplug/uboot-upgrade.html but on the USB start I just get:

Code:
Marvell>> usb start
(Re)start USB...
USB:   scanning bus for devices...
USB device not responding, giving up (status=20)
2 USB Device(s) found
scanning bus for storage devices... 0 Storage Device(s) found
Marvell>>

I've tried on an ubuntu machine (won't see sheevaplug at all - error 71), centos (ignores sheevaplug) and my fc 12 install does see it ok.  The additional problem with fc12 which is preventing me using the installer is that the php-cli rpm doesn;t appear to actually have php-cli in it! :/

Any clues as to a way to solve either of these problems?

Thanks

Ok,

sort of solved the issue - in fc12 use just php rather than php-cli

However.. having used the installer I now just get:

Code:
Reading data from 0x4ff800 -- 100% complete.
 4194304 bytes read: OK

ok,

I know it's bad form to keep answering your own posts but at least it's here for reference for someone else.

Finally solved the problem by using a different USB key. Swapped out Kingston DT Mini Slim for a Kingston Data Traveler and it flashed the rootfs with no problems at all. Seems that the Sheeva is a bit fussy about them :/
