A Problem -> And installing Java?
«

I have a problem getting lighttpd to install! It says unable to bind to port 80 as it is already in use, when I know it is not.
I have tried everything, from rebooting...I even killed the apache service.
I could not get apache to completly remove by doing apt-get remove apache2, is there something I did wrong there?
Also, how do I get java installed? I cant find it anywhere on the wiki or in these forums. I would like to be able to run java apps as I have a few plans with this thing!
Thanks

As to port 80, if:
netstat -ln
and
lsof -i
don't show anything on port 80, or http, then clearly you have a configuration problem and the error message is bogus.
As to java, I'd recommend the openjdk-6-jre-headless package.
Hope that helps,
Doug
