Hi,
I installed Debian (lenny) via sheevaplug installer to mmc card, configured my server and now I want to set quota for user, but if I 'ls /dev' i get

Please post the complete boot log as well as the output of "printenv".

Also, at the prompt where you currently are, can you do the following and post the output:

Ah, sorry.  I cannot help you with your problem.  I thought you used the Debian installer to install, but clearly you did something else.  I don't know anything about the sheevaplug installer and Debian but hopefully someone else does.

Let me give it a shot to see if I can find something. I know nothing about Debian but Linux is Linux different distro but same principle Tongue

It looks to me udev is not running. to verify use ps -ef|grep udev to see if it is running? another method is if the busybox is installed then you can use busybox mdev -s to create all the device nodes and finally if non of above is option then we can always manually create the device node.

udev was working fine. I assumed I messed up something when I was preparing rootfs. I downloaded prebuilt squeeze from http://www.mediafire.com/sheeva-with-debian and now everything is working fine. thnx for your help.
