I am killed my root partition, now I successfully boot from tftp and nfs without errors. I am use ubuntu-9.0.5.Release.jffs2 file system and uImage.sheeva.040309 and uImage.sheeva.20090319. And both get errors at kernel startup:

Empty flash at 0x087dd338 ends at 0x087dd800

Use the following as these are the latest images:
uImage.sheeva.040309
ubuntu-9.0.5.Release.jffs2

BTW, can you separate the kernel errors you see for each of the uImages?

The I/O errors are from the kernel detecting bad (but remapped) blocks on the NAND flash, and can be ignored. I have over 20 of them Sad
