Making Backup of the Flash

Guys,

again: I am a newbie. I would like to make a backup of what is in my plug before I start changing things (to a USB drive for example).
Iwould like to try that out first: making a backup and restoring the backup.

I suspect it will need more then just doing cp.

I think a dd of the flash should be enough, however I am not sure.
But, AFAIK there is already a backup of the flash image in the official Marvell files. Unless you have changed something (or using a system different non-stock image) then I think you are safe playing with the plug without backup.

However, I am not 100% sure of this.
