Hello - newbie here!

I'm trying to make the windows software for the USB-serial connection work, which is not exactly easy.

It will take me days, if I am able to do it at all.

I therefore wonder if anyone has a working XP driver that they might be willing to share.

Yeah, that's the one I'm trying to build - with little success.

A ready-made one would be nice.

I don't understand what you mean by "trying to build". I initially thought you meant compile, but the link provided to you by rooster above contains binary drivers rather than source, and worked for most people just fine in XP, so what do you mean?

Ah, I see.

What I meant is that neither XP nor Vista (I have tried both, on different PCs) recognize these files as installation files. Thus, Windows refuses to install them.

as per thread your second thread: http://plugcomputer.org/plugforum/index.php?topic=1057.msg6457#msg6457
Have you tried following http://plugcomputer.org/plugwiki/index.php/How-to_setup_PuTTY_for_the_SheevaPlug_on_Windows ?

On XP, what happens when you plug in the Sheevaplug?
does it detect new hardware?
...prompt for the driver?
what error message do you get when you select the files for the driver?
do you see the two new devices in device manager?
