Following on from my previous thread I have another question (Somewhat standalone). After alot of thought I think getting the dev kit is probably the wisest move however I am adament that I'd want the Tonido Embedded software. The only difference between getting the dev kit and buying the 'plug seperately compared with buying a TondioPlug is I'd not get the "SSL support for your TonidoPlug" for 5 years. This is valued at $19.99 per year when purchased without the TonidoPlug on their website. See here: https://store.tonido.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=3
However, I am not very sure
what ssl is.
From their website I gather that it gives an extra layer of security when logging into the 'plug outside of the network. This is something that I'd be doing alot of (To access files) and therefore would prefer to be protected.
Is what TondioPlug are offering "valuable" or is this a gimic and can be obtained from elsewhere for free and/or cheaper?
PS. The following pages on the Tonido website confuse me:http://www.tonido.com/support/InstallTonidoLicensehttp://www.tonido.com/support/InstallCA
How useful is this ssl if it requires you to manually install license on each computer you use it on? I may access from a variety of computers and would hope to not have to add this each time. If I do not add this, I assume I am getting no "benefit" from the extra layer of security, and hence does this become somewhat pointless?
