76  General Category / General Discussion / Re: New IT SheevaPlug Customers - Which config did you buy? on: November 30, 2009, 11:57:08 AM
Hello there, i thought i would give you the percentages of sales for each config, these are based on the period when we were selling all the configs at the same time:

67% Base/Standard config
19% SD Boot
14% UBIFS

I have not included Meteohub in this because its a bit more specialised.

Hope that helps you and may interest others Smiley

hungarianhc, we did not tell you to order from GST, we just pointed out that you lived in the USA and GST were getting their stock immanently.  We have and will continue to sell to customers in the USA, we just thought we were being helpful.
Right - I didn't mean to misrepresent what you said. I just asked you if you had the item in stock, and you mentioned that another store, one which is less expensive and domestic, would have it shortly. I interpreted that as pointing me toward ordering from them - apologies if I misrepresented what you wrote.

Its not a problem, we carry the EU and UK versions of the SheevaPlug, and as I said we have and will sell to anyone from the USA. As long as a buyer from the USA has the relevaent power cord (IEC C7) to fit the plug then it will work. Smiley

Fedor, I do not think there is a problem getting the SheevaPlug, if you need some we have ample stock to sell to you immediately, in fact our store shows the stock level of each configuration of SheevaPlug we sell.

Looking at the retailers list:

NewIT: UK - seem to get their stuff via Globalscale

We buy a quantity at time direct from Globalscale and Distribute mainly throughout Europe, but we have shipped a few as far as Australia, New Zealand and America!

If you have the correct IEC C7 power cable for your country the units will work.

We have another shipment from GST arriving ourselves this week.
82  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Anyone in Australia got one of these? on: October 27, 2009, 06:14:26 AM

As for newit, the conversion factor on the cost of the unit is almost double so all up it ends up as:
Global, $232AU
Newit, $190AU
Ionics, $147AU

Arguably, I wouldn't have to pay VAT for the newit ones but their site doesnt say whether they actually drop VAT for international orders or not.

We do drop the VAT for international business customers, but the British TAX office requires us to obtain the purchasing company's VAT code and business address to verify before we quote and then sell.  If you require a quotation for a quantity to be shipped to Aus please contact sales@newit.co.uk. There are 3 main SDK distributors I think: GlobalScale, NEW IT, and IONICS and you can certainly choose any of them, but do not expect that these companies could always reply to your inquiries since they could be busy processing bulk orders....

Just my 2 cents.

I can certainly say that here at New IT we aim to answer every enquiry within minutes of receipt. And orders are sent out if not the same day, then the next business day - so order before 12pm and it should be with you the next day Smiley depending on Royal Mail strikes Smiley

When you buy direct from GST the cost is:

62 for the Kit
30 - 60  Fed Ex Delivery
22 VAT and Fed Ex handling fee

Buy From New IT 89

The above is based on being shipped in the UK.

And of course we have the Kits in stock for next day delivery, so you are not waiting for your kit to be built and then shipped in xx weeks.
86  General Category / General Discussion / Re: Received yours yet? on: October 14, 2009, 01:15:40 AM
You chaps probably already know this but i will continue...

If you order from www.newit.co.uk before 12pm, and you live in the UK you should receive the kit the next day.
In Europe it seems to take anywhere between 3-5 days from point of postage.

From the photos, it looks like you supply with the horrible UK 3pin plug adapter onto the EuroPlug? Is that what you supply?
The GlobalScale photos show a proper slide-in UK plug, even though they didn't ship that to me.

Hi there, yes that is what we supply - simply because thats all thats available - GlobalScale do not make a true UK version, they have looked in to doing it but its not easy geting the three big pins onto the slider, so no plans to produce in the near future.
